Last month I applauded Dick Wiebusch for the publication of New Hampshire Civil Practice; but wait, there's more! Unknown to Dick or me, he was being nominated at that very time by U.S. senators Gordon Humphrey and Warren Rudman to the post of U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire. As the senior law enforcement officer for federal matters in the state, he will be leaving his law practice at Sheehan, Phinney, Bass, and Green. Bob Field '64, one of Dick's partners, was kind enough to send this information, while assuring me that Dick will be missed at the office.
Jon Page writes from Upper Saddle River, N.J., that the new year finds him and Pat busy with Elizabeth (five and a half) in kindergarten, Gregory (four) in nursery school, and identical twins Richard and Brian (two) growing and healthy. Jon is.senior VP for the Intercapital Division of Dean Witter, managing a mutual fund portfolio in excess of $7 billion. Anyone in need of a portfolio manager can find Jon at 15 Roxbury Downs in Upper Saddle River.
From warmer climes, Steve Jenkins writes that he is associate professor of biology at the University of Nevada at Reno. He teaches ecology classes and enjoys the countryside, while studying the habits of small mammals in the local mountains and desert. His wife, Kathie, does spinning and weaving, and they also study the habits of son Matthew (ten).
Just down the road a piece is a small Massachusetts town named Williamstown, where it is rumored they have a college. From South Williamstown, Sherwood Guernsey writes that he won reelection for a second term as Massachusetts state representative from the Second Berkshire District. He notes that wife Carol and the three children are doing fine.
Broadway is fast becoming home for Dennis Wolshanak, who just choreographed the new show Oy Mama, Am I in Love which opened at the newly-renovated Town Hall on October 24. He teaches at the American Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Dennis also directed and choreographed Man of La Mancha for the Zeiterion Theater of Bedford, Mass. He notes that Nancy Kindelan, formerly at the College in the drama department, was a co-worker in that production.
Samuel Dryden Eberhart, the newest addition to the class, was born to Dikkon andChanna Eberhart on December 3. Samuel joins Lena (six) and James (four). Having received a grant from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, Dikkon is gestating a novel concerning a 17th-century buccaneer, one Tamworth Tew, whose memoirs our writer alleges to have discovered in the archives at the Hartford Seminary.
After five years at Hartford Seminary, Dikkon is leaving to become northeastern sales and manuscript representative of Meyer Publishing Enterprises, a Chicago-based theological publisher. He loves the book business and feels this change will allow him to more fully participate.
Dikkon sails with John Pilling. This past summer they came in seventh out of 54 in the Corinthian 200, enduring 18-to 20-foot seas and 45-knot winds, 40 miles off the coast of Maine.
Another pair of '6B yachtsmen in the news was Rich Du Moulin and Lee Reichart, who won the prestigious Knickerbocker Cup in October. I conclude my first epistle of the 1985 vintage with an appeal from Joel Portugal '58 of the Alumni Fund. He notes that the '85 fund goals are $12 million, with 70 percent participation, for an increase of 15 percent in dollars and three percent in participation. Let's see if we can meets the challenge. With the class's dramatic increase in participation in '84, we have the momentum to meet these goals! Please respond early to save classmates time and effort.
