As I write this month's column, the Big Green is only beginning its march to glory, and as you read, utter victory in the Ivy League is undoubtedly a foregone conclusion. Be that as it may, in the busy summer months word has been received from (or of) several of you as follows:

A press release from Simon Konover and Associates of West Hartford, Conn., informs us that John Larson is prospering with them, recently having been promoted to vice president. Konover is one of the largest shopping center developers in the nation, and John will concentrate on the northeast region. John received his masters from Trinity College and now lives in South Glastonbury, Conn.

Courtesy of a mysterious card received from Kim and Chang in Seoul, South Korea, we learn that John Landholm has completed a two-year stint of international business with them. That job behind him, John has moved on to the law with the firm of Gomez, Acebo and Pambo in Madrid, Spain. Joining John in all this globe-trotting are his wife, Diana, and year-old-son Shawn.

Peter Logan reports that he has finally tied the knot, but only with the help of fellow '7os Bruce Blumberg and DwightMacomber and an assist from Bill Street '71. Also joining the San Francisco ceremony was Peter's new wife, Victoria Podesta (Scripps '78). Peter is listed on the letterhead of Hall, Henry, Oliver and McReary, Counselors at Law, in San Francisco, and is presumed to be working with them.

You should all be watching closely for the results of the Maine gubernatorial contest, since our own John "Jock" McKernan is the Republican candidate. As you probably all know, John has served several successful terens in the House of Representatives. What you may not know is that John has been reported by Savvy magazine to be romantically involved with Maine's other congressperson, Olympia J. Snowe. Gossipmongers elaborated in this article that when asked if they were in love, the two turned to each other and giggled. Keep tuned for updates on both of these exciting developments in John's life.

Robert Horner has become of counsel to the Boston-based law firm of Goldstein and Manello, with their international and litigation departments. Rob holds a law degree from New York University and was formerly with Haight, Gardner, Poor and Havens in New York, managing their affiliate office in Paris. He was co-translator of the imposing The Second InternationalConference on Private Aeronautical Law: Warsaw 1929. Rob currently calls Charlestown, Mass., home.

Mark and D'Ellen Pfeiffer report the birth of their first son, Zachary Akins, on May 8. Little Zach's appearance at the 15th reunion made him undoubtedly the youngest member of our class family present. Mark and D'Ellen were married in August, 1984 on Hog Island in the middle of Narragansett Bay, with BobTurner, Chuck Clifford, Gary Brooks, and myself in attendance. The Pfeiffers live in a historic home in nearby Bristol, R. 1., and, when not up at all hours with the baby, are busily involved in restoration. Mark is a member of the cabinet of the governor of Rhode Island, responsible for regulation of the insurance and banking industries.

Finally, we have an update from TimFrawley, a supervising district attorney for Sacramento County. Tim prosecutes a number of those seamy and sensational types of cases which frequently make news hereabouts. While on a recent change of venue case, Tim ran into MikeThornton in San Mateo Superior Court. Mike busies himself defending those whom Tim would prosecute, but (to the relief of SAE's everywhere) it is unlikely that they will ever find themselves at odds in the courtroom. Not to be outdone, Tim's wife, Lil, also serves as an attorney in Sacramento County. She is generally involved in severing parental rights of those who abuse children. Tim and Lil's three children, Trevor, Lauren, and Darren, cheer them on in the pursuit of law and justice.

That's it, folks. Not a bad column in terms of news of note, if I do say so. However, the above represents nearly six months of backlog. Since this column should appear monthly, I think you can see the problem if you don't communicate, and soon. So be forwarned that the risk of a dearth of news is that the column will be turned into a travelogue on your favorite tourist destination Modesto, Central Valley, Calif. Stay happy and healthy.

This photo came with the following explanation: "Since the Alumni Magazine editorial policy prohibitsthe running of baby pictures, Mark Pfeiffer '70 sent this photo of himself and his twin brother, ZacharyAkins Pfeiffer. That's Mark on the right." [Editor's note: those of you without a "twin" will be relievedto know that the Alumni Magazine is happy to run baby pictures, as long as they include a pictureof a Dartmouth mom or dad.]
