Nowadays when so many young people fail to achieve the "viable, long-term relationship" in lieu of episodic interludes, the class of 1922 might serve as a role model. Twoters definitely maintain that the family has not yet become an archaic institution.

To wit, during the year of 1985, the following Twoters had diamond jubilee 60th wedding anniversaries: Gray and DorothyBates, Jack and Fran Dodd, Joe and BettyPerkins, Oscar and Bea Rice, Sandy andElla Grace Sanders, Chuck and MargaretVose, and Les and Nancy Wagner. They joined other seniors in matrimony who in 1985 had wedding anniversaries of more than 60 years: Al and Jessica Curtis,Larry and Celia Farnham, Russ andMildred Harmon, Ted and Saima Laycock,Len and Margaret Morrissey, and Pete and Esther Petot.

And as they become 60-year matrimonial celebrities, a new delegation will join the club in 1986: Norm and MarianCrane, Jack and Frances Dana, Herm andFlorence Oliver, Spenny and Marj Smith, and Modie and Carolyn Spiegel.

The very best wishes to all. Special gratitude goes to all '22 wives, particularly for their loyalty and devotion during those times when marriage survival possibly might not have been exuberantly idyllic.

Finally, as class records become increasingly uncertain, only a naive novice would have the temerity to compile such lists. If, as likely, there are errors or omissions, kindly realize that the perceptive acuity of the scribe is admittedly declining. You, of course, would have no knowledge of that ageing difficulty.

Charles A. Vose Jr. has become chairman emeritus of the First Oklahoma Bankcorp, a bank holding company. According to The Wall Street Journal, he also became chairman emeritus and past chief executive of the holding company's lead bank, the First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City. The journal adds, "Mr. Vose remains a director of the holding company." All Twoters delight in knowing that Chuck has been doing more than OK in Oklahoma.

Belatedly, from Yuletide gossip, it was learned that Dot Ball and Marj Smith, two of 1922's favorite grandmothers, enjoyed a grand reunion at their alma mater. The name of their college sometimes bewilders memory-unless, as always, some alumna lets it drop in early conversation-but it is in Northhampton, Mass., and its alums, like Dartmouth, are forever youthful in loyalty.

Charlie Throop has left us in sorrow. An obituary appears in the back section of an upcoming issue of the Magazine.
