There's not much news this month. We're spending March (when this is being written) on Longboat Key, off Sarasota, so nearly all of my reports will be Floridian.
But The Reunion comes first. The newsletter has reported that 69 classmates and 62 wives or guests, plus 15 "maybes," are planning to be back, so a superb get-together is assured. The dates in Hanover cover the three nights of June 9-11, with the optional two-day follow up at the Spalding Inn at Whitefield. As you read this, the great 55th affair is less than a month off. If you haven't decided to come or are on the fence, make up your mind NOW to head for Hanover and the reunion!
The nearly-annual East Coast Florida party of '31s was held on February 26 at the Boynton Beach Holiday Inn, following cocktails at the Si Leaches. By all reports, it was a 10-star event. Present were Beeand Barbara Ball, John and Marion Boermeester, Ben Carrington, Don and TedCruikshank, John and Lucy Elliott, JohnGoodwillie, Ori and June Hobbs, Si andFrances Leach (of course), John Leuthner,Dave and Alice Loveland, John and RuthMacKechnie, Matty and Lorene Matteson, John and Virgina McCortney, Cliffand Sue McDonald, Bob and Mary Oelman, Ed and Emma Pastore, Bill and LeeSchuldenfrei, Bob and Speedy Wallace, and Betty Walter. Just before writing this, your correspondent attended the biweekly luncheon of the Dartmouth Club of Sarasota. Our Dick Henry presided most efficiently as president, and there was quite a discussion of affairs in Hanover, of course. OriHobbs and Larry Tucker were the only '31s I spotted in what was a very goodly crowd. There was much talk of the club's annual meeting, held March 19.
Via Lucy Cogswell and his wife, Dorothy, I have word that the address of Keith Fox is now RD 2, 634 Fountain Street, Clinton, N.Y., a skilled nursing facility where Keith is getting the best of care.
The Alumni Fund is winding down to its close for 1986. We ought to have our full class contribution on the books by the time we are back in Hanover for the 55th. As I write this, the showing is very good, but there's a long way to go to reach an amount of which we can all be proud as the 55th reunion class.
If you haven't yet sent in that increased gift or pledge, how about doing it today? You'll bring a big smile to Don Stoddard's face.
And if you already have done your bit (or even something more), bless you, bless you, bless you!
