Open Space, the magazine of Great Britain's oldest conservation organization, cited the Dartmouth Green in an article contrasting New England commons with their British counterparts. The British publication noted, "Curiously, ownership of this famous green is uncertain: the college and town both claim it and the lawyers haven't found the answer."
