Sorry to report that we have a safecracker in our midst. Whit Kimball has been up-dating town records of Newbury, Mass., and discovered a safe that hadn't been opened for half a century, because someone lost the combination. He was able to open it by undisclosed means, found a trove of information and transposed it to the town computer. Whit has lived his whole life in his home town, taught and coached for 20 years, and later worked as a distributor of educational material. Two sons live in the area. Whit Jr. '63 is in communications, and Richard '68 is a professor of psychology at Worcester State.
William Carpenter MacCarty IV, son of W.C. MacC III M.D. '67, and grandson of W.C. "Dumps" MacCarty Jr. M.D., was recently born at South Boston, Va. It is anticipated that an M.D. will be added to his name sometime around the year 2011, thus making him the fourth W.C. MacC. in the medical profession.
Wes Beattie, 45th in the Governor Benning Wentworth succession as president of the association of the lake in New Hampshire named after his excellency, spent last year in and out of court forestalling an entrepreneur planning to make a Coney Island out of that pristine abode. Jan, his wife, reports they took a vacation from a vacation and visited the Maritime Provinces before returning to their home in Sun City Center, Fla., where they moved from Hanover two years ago a move which left Dartmouth's coaching staff bereft of Wes's poignant advice, particularly in the field of football and hockey.
