Summer is just over, as I write, yet football season is drawing to a close as you read. I must say that I am ready for the cool, crisp days of fall, after a perfect New England summer, and I hope that I will hear from more of our classmates as we are forced to spend more time inside (near pens and paper).

Our family has just returned from a vacation on Squam Lake in New Hampshire, where we often run into Arthur Howe. This year, however, Art and his wife were at home in East Hartford, Conn., awaiting the birth of their second child. Art is a professional fire-fighter.

I heard through the grapevine that FredWall and his wife, Joie Hyde, have just left Washington, Conn., for Chicago. Fred will be working with Drexel Burnham. What are you up to Joie?

As Fred and Joie were arriving, KevinMoore and his wife, Ann, were just leaving Chicago. They are returning to New York City, where Kevin is president of Jet Capital, a holding company of Frank Lorenzo's (chairman of Texas Air). Congratulations, Kevin!

As always, there is a large contingent of Dartmouth cronies in the Boston area. I had a chance to catch up a bit with Bill Schill-hammer at the reunion. He is living in the Chelmsford, Mass., area with his wife, Mary Beth, and their two children, Rachel (two) and Ashley (nine months). He continues as a manager with Intel.

Sara Hoagland Hunter, her husband, Andy, and their gorgeous son, John (one year old), have recently moved from Wellesley, Mass., across the town line into Weston.

Sara completed a master's degree at Harvard's Graduate School of Education, and is now a reading specialist and a speech teacher in the Dover schools.

I only saw Bud Stacy briefly at reunions, but I hear he is assistant treasurer at the Harvard Community Health Plan. His wife, Michelle (Valensi) '77, is a marketing manager for Gillette. They live in the beautiful coastal town of Ipswich, Mass.

Peter Jeton and Nancy Kepes Jeton live in Andover, Mass., with their one-year-old son, Eric. Nancy is the town planner for Andover, and Peter continues with Bank of Boston, where he oversees large corporate accounts in the midwest. Nancy and Peter had a busy summer with a Japanese exchange student living in their home. We saw them in Hanover on the weekend of the Shriner's parade. That must have been a cultural eye-opener for their Japanese guest!

John Richey was at reunions with his wife, Debbie, and toddler, Elizabeth. John is a doctor (family practitioner) in his hometown of Barre, Vt.

Mike Gables came to the reunion from St. Louis, where he is an ophthalmologist. We also ran into John Krick and his wife, Lisa, who have recently moved to Philadelphia.

John will continue to work in the advertising world, and Lisa is at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Cindi Wolcott and her husband, Jim Scott '69, did not make it to reunions. I'm sure their incredibly busy schedules didn't allow it. They are both attorneys in Newport Beach, Calif. Cindi is with Palmieri, Tyler, Wiener, and Wilheim.

That does it! I have reported every bit of gossip, fact, or rumor I can muster up. I will have to do some serious spy work in the months to come.

If you haven't already, try to make it to one of the mini-reunions being held around the country. A happy colorful fall to you all . . . And please keep in touch.

God knows all the color and form of leaves I have trodden on and mired."
