Dear Class: Ho Ho Ho, and a-shopping we will go. The month also begins with a nice note from Howard Marshall. "We had the largest contingent at the Alumni College in August... Rudy Horky and Barb, JoeBurnett, Stet Whitcher (his 21st!) HowieZagor and Bill Cleaves. It was the first for Betty and me and I was thrilled... Can't imagine a more stimulating and rewarding way to spend two weeks. Going again next year! Bob MacMillen supplied moral support by joining us at morning coffee breaks. Nick and Bet Turkevich joined the group for a mini-reunion dinner. The weather was beautiful and the gleaming walls of Dartmouth Row in late afternoon were—damn! What a marvelous place, how lucky we were. Best—Howie Marshall."

Next, we have a few notes that came in with the class dues (have you sent in yours?) courtesy of Stet Whitcher.

From Dr. Lew Lambert: "Life continues to be the greatest out here in the Pacific Northwest... the only place in the world that gets the nod over northern New England. Hope the new pres. will do something to get the priorities in order at Hanover."

From Herb Porter: "We moved (in April '87) to Rancho Bernardo (Calif.) part of San Diego and close to Rancho Santa Fe. Dinner with Scotty and Loomie Rogers." From Dick Hawkes: "I am still working much of the time, selling real estate. We visit Port Orford, Ore., twice a year to see married daughter. We have four children, three of whom are married, and seven grandchildren." From Les Nichols: "Will represent Kentucky at the Dublin, Ireland, International Hotel Assn. meeting, (in October '87—Ed.) Will take 10th Armored Div. members on European battlefield tour in 'B9. Looking forward to our 50th very much. Was selected as Kentucky's Hospitality Man of the Year for 1987." From FredEaton: Peg and I still spend four months on Martha's Vineyard and the other eight on Hilton Head Island. Had a triple by-pass this last spring but I'm now back playing golf and tennis as usual. Four sons and daughter all well and at a big (20) family reunion in August. Our best wishes to everyone and we hope to be at the next reunion. Regards."

From Brad Rowland: "Doing substitute teaching in local schools and taking English comp. course at Vermont Community College!"

From Bill Duncan: "Sorry to miss the mini. My daughter was married that Saturday. I shall return." Now, some news of Jay Weinberg,

gleaned from the pages of Allied Signal's Omnia, Fall '87. Jay, together with Pat Blum, a pilot, conceived the idea for the Corporate Angel Network (CAN). This is a network of corporations with their own planes that can offer cancer patients a free flight to or from a place of treatment, using the planned corporate flight schedules. CAN began in 1981 and is still principally managed by Jay and Pat Blum. The staff has grown from six volunteers to 35, plus two full-time employees. Well done, Jay! and thank you to the three alert Dartmouth grads who were kind enough to send me the information.

I've recently joined up with the Dartmouth Club of South Eastern Connecticutthat's the shoreline area east of New Haven and inland five or six miles—and find many activities going on. Would appreciate hearing from those of you in other clubs. For example, we throw a reception for the Canoe Club every May, hold joint one-day seminars with other Dartmouth clubs, etc. That's it for this issue, good people. Have a Merry Christmas and God bless.
