Bruce Crawford sends the most glamorous photographs imaginable of Nestor"Pete" Lord and himself on the island of Tortola, which I recall as part of the British Virgin Islands. The photos were taken in 1986 and depict a boat strangely labeled Continuance of Tulsa, Okla. Both of our hardies look like happy rum-runners, and since they lay claim to negotiating the same trip in 1987 (for the sixth consecutive year), maybe a select few can hitch a ride. Pete resides in Windsor, Conn., and does business himself under the nom de plume of "N. Philip Lord Company," making speckled grapefruit squeezers. Bruce, a more prosaic fellow, is with State Mutual Life Assurance in Worcester, Mass.

Colored snapshots usually cannot be reprinted by the preceptors of the AlumniMagazine, which is too bad, because another colored beauty was received from Bob "Deke" Jackson,, prominent Orlando, Fla., banker. It portrays a reunion at the home of Gordon "Spud" Parsons on the Intercoastal Waterway in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and includes the redoubtable Johnny Everatt, described by Deke as "central Florida's financial planning wizard." The info about Spud described him as "Orlando's leading osteopath." Wives Nadine Jackson, Susan Everatt, and Lorraine Parsons are included, consistent with the spirit of modern day Dartmouth. (Incidentally, ianyone wants photo reproductions in juxtaposition to this column, please send black and white photos only.)

The sly one is Charlie Fay. A sober resident of Corona, Calif., he sends a clipping from the Riverside, Calif., PressEnterprise of December 2, 1986, with a picture of your faithful class secretary's ascension to the California State Senate. (For those loyalists who have inquired, I did win election to the California State Senate as the first nonincumbent Independent since 1851.) He even has the courage to send a "heartfelt Wah Hoo Wah," but tempers such benediction with the thought that somebody once said the phrase means sodomy in the language of the Sioux. Charlie is affiliated with Norco Schools, which he will explain later, but meanwhile, he proclaims a journey around the world in the summer of 1986 via TWA and Q ANT AS, including visitation with student friends in Europe who had been guests of his in Corona. Charlie also relates a stay in Bangkok with Dave Karukin, a '48 who graduated with us.

Finally, the Director of Research and Records of the College asks if I might assist in locating a valid address for several members of our class, as follows: RobertB. Berg, Maurice L. Bombar Jr., John K.Cooley, H. Richardson Crampton, Raymond G. Hammel, William G. Kerr, Eugene E. Masson, John P. McGrath, JohnD. Oulton, Emidio A. Papa, Donald R.Pardee, Paul A. Peters, George R. Purvis,Robert F. Schultz, Joseph B. Smith,Alfred M. Southey Jr., Francis P. Squibb,Donald F. Streich, and Bjarne E. Ulvestad. I would appreciate it if you would not only read the foregoing list, but furnish me clues as to the whereabouts of any of those fellow members of the class. My memories of people like Bob Berg, Bill Kerr (who attended Harvard Law School with me), Jack McGrath, Bob Purvis, F.P. Squibb, and Don Streich are an important part of the Dartmouth landscape for me. On public radio I hear from time to time the voice of a John Cooley, and I only hope that it is our John. In any event, you get the picture; please take a moment to tell me if you know the location of the foregoing luminaries.
