Bob Blood wrote in on a classmate long not heard from. "Had a great visit one Saturday in January with Irenee du Pont Jr., who was member of our class our freshman and sophomore years before he transferred to MIT to go on to become a du Pont engineer. He and his wife, Barbara Batchelder du Pont whom he met in Hanover, where she was in high school and the daughter of the president of the Hanover bank live in Irenee's father's house, a huge spread on a hill overlooking the Brandywine River. We had a lark driving around the snowy countryside in the 1918 Cadillac which he bought in West Lebanon when he was a freshman a big seven passenger touring car with less than 50,000 miles on it."
Roy and Susie Eldredge took off in February for the West Coast and Hawaii. They were accompanied by daughter Lizzie '81 who has just been accepted as a resident in neurosurgery at Boston's prestigious Children's Hospital. Ad Winship tells us that Jackie Quayle (Olly's widow) has just welcomed their second granddaughter, and having done so, left the Hanover Plain for Florida. (Ad himself is off to San Francisco while the Hanover community reels into mud season.) Ad also told us that HuntlyAllison has settled into retirement at Quebec and is well into a new career as a track official in Hanover. Ad says, "Hunt looks impressive in his new uniform and is a superb timer of first placers."
A card from Phyllis and Harry Edgcomb reports the imminent marriage of their daughter. Phyllis adds the comment "Families are wonderful lots of ups and downs but wouldn't trade for a life without children, would you?" Dick Burns, still hanging on in snow-choked Nashua, N.H., sent in a picture of Army Stambaugh, glass in hand, apparently lecturing fellow HBS classmates at their 40th. Dick comments, "my class was 1948, right after World War II. My God that's a long time ago!"
And an appeal to two more "lost" classmates. Will Howard Morse and WinthropRobbins borrow a pen and tell the rest of us and the Alumni Affairs office where they are?
