For those unable to return to our 65th Reunion, June 12-14, these notes will try to answer a major question likely to arise during the assembly:
Does '22 have any progenies in the 1987 Commencement? Indeed we do! James H. Reynolds III, Dartmouth A.B. '75, Dartmouth M.S. '77, is expected to receive his Dartmouth Ph.D. in Geology on June 14. His mother is the former Sally Crane, daughter of our Dr. Norman and Marian Crane. Jim's father is J. Howard Reynolds, Dartmouth A.B. '51, Rutgers M. A. '59, Syracuse Ph.D. '61, presently professor of psychology at Colgate. Jim is the husband of Haidee Wilson, daughter of the late Dr. Donald H. Wilson, formerly professor at the Darmouth Medical School. And Jim and Haidee are the parents of Elise Catherine. Jim's brother, Jeffrey, also graduated Dartmouth '77. Seems likely the Reynoldses and the Cranes might enjoy Commencement.
Christina L. Stearns is one of our first '22 granddaughters to graduate from Dartmouth. She is the granddaughter of our late Stewart P. Stearns and his widow, Louise. Chrissie is also the granddaughter of President Emeritus John Sloan Dickey and his wife, Christina. Chrissie '87 is the daughter of Stewart P. Stearns Jr. '54; she comes from Gansevoort, N.Y., is an outstanding member of the Dartmouth's Women's Tennis Team, an English major, and a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. The cheers of all '22 go with you, Chrissie.
James P. Saeger is another '22 representative in the 1987 Commencement. Jim is the grandson of our Bill Pope, Jim's mother being Bill's daughter, Marie. Jim comes from Bethlehem, Pa. He is captain of the Frisbee Team at the College, an English major, and a member of Zeta Psi fraternity. After graduation he will work with a large publishing firm. Four years ago when he applied for admittance to Dartmouth, Jim received early acceptance from the College, which he chose over several other schools. When asked it he would still do it all over again at Dartmouth, Jim's answer was "Definitely, yes!" Congratulations and the best of luck, Jim.
Will any '22 classmate or widow fail to contribute to the 1987 Alumni Fund? Surely, no one, especially in this our 65th Reunion year.
