We report sadly the loss of our treasurer, "Nate" Bugbee, who died suddenly May 6. He was a loyal classmate who will be sorely missed. Also to be remembered are the late "Larry" Welch, formerly a membeof the class executive committee and Clifford L. Fitzgerald, a non-graduate member. Paul Brundage reminisces of his cattle boat trip to Europe with the others of the Dartmouth group and his summer studying in Madrid in the Residencia de Estudiahtes along with Ernesto de la Guardia (another member of the Spanish Club, later to become president of Panama). They had many walks with their professor and later traveled all over Spain before returning for the fall term; this was his most memorable experience while at Dartmouth.

Bob Sharp reports that since retiring from his English professorship at Wheaton College, he has spent his time in Chatham on Cape Cod "practicing the art of passing time by magnifying the daily chores, i.e., housework, yard work, and street-watchirig." The Chatham building boom has resulted in a bulldozer or a truck passing his house about every five minutes. He sees Web Collins now and then, but not many other '25s.

When I phoned "Scoof" Newton recently about nine one morning, his wife reported that he had "gone to work." Believe it or not, Scoof is still holding down a teaching job!

Lowell King, now living in Marionville, Mo., (since retiring from Northeastern Bell Telephone), says they do some travelling, usually in the summer, with Great Britain their favorite target. Except for sight problems (macular degeneration), he is in good shape physically. They have four children, 17 grandchildren, and eight great-grand- children. Can any of you beat that?

Bob Pike writes from Eatontown, N.J., that he is in good health and spirits and "working as always." His long out-of-print book Spiked Boots, a North Country "classic," now sells for $125 when findable. This, of course, is only one example of his prodigious writings.

Paul Pearson reports the graduation from the University of Colorado (magna cum) of granddaughter, Sara. Their daughter, jane, (Mt. Holyoke '53), now lives in Boulder, Colo., and grandson, Eric (University of Colorado), is now with Associated Press in Florida. Lately, they attended Alice's 60th reunion at Wheaton. Paul sees Chet Eaton quite often at the Needham Retired Men's Club.

We are happy to learn that Bill Boies has agreed to succeed Nate Bugbee as our treasurer.

Thought for the month: The height of impatience must be using a microwave oven to cook "minute rice."
