Pedalers in Greece

Round the girdled earth . . .Charles Martin '50 likes to bike a lot and he keeps bumping into Elliot Weiss '61. This past summer it happened at a pass in Greece, the highest paved road in the country, about a mile above sea level. In the picture, from left, are Peter Weiss, Elliot's 19 year old son; Weiss, who's a professor at Cardoza School of Law; and Martin, a professional photographer. The previous summer the two Dartmouth alumni met, for the first time, while biking in Nova Scotia but somehow they didn't discover the Dartmouth connection till this year. Martin's home is near Pittsburgh, and he has a summer place in North Carolina. He has biked from one to the other at least ten times, making the 600-mile trip in about six days.
