Bill Fitzhugh headed a team of 12 American and Soviet curators who overcame politics—in the form of the downing of a Korean airliner and intra-Soviet jurisdictional disputes to put together an exhibition that challenges long-held views about the beginnings of civilization in the Americas.
At an award presentation held in Hanover, Sandy McGinnis received the "Class of 1964 Award" for achieving the greatest number of s1,000-and-up gifts in a nonreunion class. While cynics among you may question the validity of an award with such a name, this is the real thing. The award was established after our performance in the 1987 Alumni Fund campaign. We won it legitimately during the 1988 campaign and Sandy certainly deserves all the recognition he has been getting as one of Dartmouth's all-time great class agents.
