Since I'm writing this even before you've read the September column, I won't hold anyone responsible for the emptiness of the file I set up for the voluminous reams of alumni news that I'm supposed to possess. Of course I could spend the whole column ruminating about "hitting the wall" after the first half-mile of the Reunion Run. Actually, hats off to Tom Illick, John Lincoln, and Bruce Campbell, who all ran very strong IOKs, considering the previous two-day's festivities. I did not include Perry Butler in the above group since it was rumored that Aldis P. went to bed at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night to be ready for the big race on Sunday.

I spent a couple of days in Rumson, N.J., visiting Herb and Judy McCord. Herb is definite testimony to the saying that living well is the best revenge. We joined the McCords and Lew and JudyEisenberg at the Eisenbergs' beach club and later at their Navesink River home for some great lobsters.

To keep this column from looking too much like the social page, you guys are going to have to send some material. Does anyone know if Alex Varkas still lives? Alex, if you're within the sound of this column, call. All is forgiven.
