The class sustained another grievous loss with the death of our class president George Zahm on January 7 in Delray Beach, Fla. He had been hospitalized for some time suffering from a brain tumor.

Word from Janet Smith tells us of the death of her uncle, Jay Charles Elder, December 27 in Frederick, Md. We also have to report belatedly the death November 17 in Falmouth, Mass. of "Billie" Jenkins, widow of our late president Bill Jenkins.

Jim Martin reports that, despite another stroke, he gets around thanks to his wife, Kit's, careful nursing, and that their three sons are making plans for their 60th wedding anniversary there in Phoenix, Ariz. Along the same line, Walter Vom Lehn '53 writes to tell us of the 60th wedding anniversary celebration of parents Walter andHelen Vom Lehn on Christmas Eve.

Brad Kingman's rheumatoid arthritis makes climbing up a football stadium too difficult for him to make the Princeton game last fall but says that with his wife, Jane, and medication to sustain him, he hasn't much to complain about. Their daughter and son-in-law have built a new home in the area (Durham, N.H.) near them facing the bay, and their grandson and granddaughter are welcome neighbors. Their oldest daughter and husband are now in San Francisco, he on a new job with the Bank of America, while their son is a teachercoach at Middlesex School. Brad is able to manage nine holes of golf with a cart, walks the dog through the woods, and cruised the Panama Canal with Jane last year.

Correction: Bill Bunting denies having any of the physical ailments ascribed to him in the winter issue of these notes and says he is "doing fairly well." Sorry, Bill, it must have been two other guys.

Bob Millett's wife, Lee, reports that Bob is now in the Liberty Commons Nursing Home, North Chatham, Mass. Like so many other unfortunates these days, he is suffering from Alzheimer's. We learn that Haven Blake Werntz, widow of BenWerntz, is now settled in her new care retirement apartment in Delray Beach, Fla., and Dodie Tower, widow of Walter"Tippy" Tower, has moved into her new home, Stone Institute, 277 Elliott Street, Newton Upper Falls, Mass.

Thought for the month: We want to be delivered from temptation, but it would be nice to have it keep us in touch.
