For a while now, many of us have been waging the bitter struggle against the potential of clogged coronary arteries due to fats, cholesterol, LDLs (I think those are the bad kind), plaque, etc. Very few in our class realized that one of the pioneers in the latest techniques of removing deposits from our arteries is Gerry Dorros. A cardiologist in Milwaukee, Gerry has become known throughout the world as a leader in the new field of shaving away fatty deposits from the insides of artery walls. Gerry has pioneered a variety of artery widening techniques and his hospital is one of fewer than a dozen institutions nationwide where the new shaving device called an AtheroCath is being used.
Gerry graduated from New York's Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1968 and completed his residency in Boston and New York. He spent three years in the army stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, and subsequently worked with cardiologist Denton Cooley in Houston. In 1978, Gerry and Myra moved to Milwaukee where he is now in private practice and affiliated with St. Luke's Hospital. Gerry and Myra have four children, sons Ari 17, Eben 14, Noam 9, and daughter Isa 12.
Now, pay attention. This is important. In 14 months, our 25th Reunion will be taking place. This is the biggie—perhaps the last time that many of us will get together at the scene of the crimes of our wanton youth. To commemorate the occasion, a reunion yearbook will be published that will feature each class member with biographical updates, personal reflections, photographs both past and present, etc. Shortly, you will be receiving in the mail a request to join in this yearbook effort. Please respond promptly and completely. Most important, make plans now to attend the reunion in June 1989.
