Our condolences to Ely Wallis Chick on the death of her husband, Parker Chick '28 in Chatham, Mass., July 22. Word from his daughter informs us of the death of Fred W. Webster on July 18 at his home in Palm Beach, Fla. Everett"Ted" Learnard reporting from Sandwich, Mass., enjoys sailing his 23' sloop when there is decent weather. He sings in the First Church choir and is a member of the Sandwich Chorale. He finds the rapid growth of his lawn "disgusting." "Scoof" Newton keeps on the move, recently visiting Long Island and frequently in Salem visiting a sister-in-law, then going camping in Vermont with his grandsons.

Plans for our 65th Reunion next June are underway with Ken McDonough taking over the reunion chairmanship with the help of his son Dick '52 and the latter's wife, Caroline, and coordination with Rad Tanzer on the Hanover end. Connie Thompson will help with the widows who always pitch in so loyally. Connie is in New London and so reasonably nearby. Larry Leavitt and Dot had their usual month at their place on Lake Sunapee before returning to Hanover to allow their oldest granddaughter and family to take over for a couple of weeks. Louise, widow of Jack Whitman, who died May 19, reports that his death of a massive heart attack occurred after two months in the hospital paralyzed by two fractured vertebrae. Had he lived another month, they would have celebrated their 61st anniversary.

Thought for the month : A pun is the lowest form of humor until you get a chance to use it.
