If brevity is truly the soul of wit, this might be my funniest column ever. Ross Koller has had quite a busy year. He was married in late May to Jennifer Benedetti (Wellesley '87) in Newport, R.I. Witnesses and luminaries included Bill Schuh, Andy Muir, Lynn Mahoney,Betsy Park, Clyfe Beckwith, and ColleenMason. With that big a crowd, Ross could have registered the event as a class reunion and taken advantage of the College's taxexempt status. Ross and Jennifer honeymooned in Greece and have settled in Geneva (yes, the one in Switzerland). Ross is an oil trader for Cargill International.

Transition is in the wind for Sarah Katz as well. She pursued her computer science major in the computer consulting field near Boston for 18 months before enrolling in law school at Columbia University where she is now fully immersed in her first year. Rob Shen is also making the transition from the corporate sector to the world of academia. Rob has wrapped up a stint of consulting in Boston and has returned to Dartmouth for two terms of pre-med. He plans to attend medical school next year (quite a change for a history major!).

Meanwhile, wedding bells ring on for our class. Cory Mann married John "Krist" Schell on August 12. The two met while coordinating overseas studies trips with Professor John Rassias.

Scott Rafshoon and Esther Schrader have been applying their journalistic talents picked up in offices of The Dartmouth to newspapers on opposite sides of the country. Scott is hard at work for the Fredericksburg (Va.) Free-Lance Star, while Esther writes for the Los Angeles Times.

Kathy Selig sent me a postcard recently that required a world adas to follow. She wrote on an Australian postcard that she is moving to Uppsala, Sweden, with a friend she met in a Tibetan monastery in northern Nepal. I figure she is either pulling my leg in a big way or that she is truly a woman on the move. The question that remains is, how did she get in to the monastery to meet this guy? Do they have visiting hours or guided tours or something? Anyway, Kathy had been working at the Asia Society in New York City with Becky Mikalson before her life became so full of intrigue.

In closing, I have two final tidbits: MikeKolis is working in the personnel department for Macy's in New York, and RobPlesnarski has started law school at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Adios for now, and don't forget Homecoming weekend, October 13-15.
