A class meeting was held before the football game on October 14, and there was a rather impressive attendance, which included our president, Charlie Thayer, who is now chief of surgery at Morton Hospital in Taunton, Mass. Also in attendance was Steve Feld, who is practicing law in Portsmouth, N.H., as he has since 1982. He specializes in civil litigation and personal injury. Steve also reported that John Sherman is working for the New York State government in Albany, and that John and his wife, Peggy, have two sons, Will and Nate. Steve thinks that Harry Anderson is still in Kansas City, but "he is keeping it a secret as to what he does." Apparently, Harry left the army about three years ago.
Jeff Zesiger and his wife, Dorien Miller, also made it to the morning meeting. They are living in Northampton, Mass., where they opened a solo practice in internal medicine almost a year ago. Jeff and Darien were married on the day of our 10th Reunion, and they have a nine-year-old son Jason.
Stewart Crawford came to our meeting, having returned in June from a year of traveling with his wife, Andrea, in Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Scandinavia, China, Thailand, East Africa, Egypt, and the South Pacific. Stew says that he went from "the fast track to the sane track." They are currently living in Ocean Grove, N.J., where he is a private consultant in the field of software engineering and is trying to adjust to life back in the States.
The meeting was also attended by SandyFritchet, who runs the product management group within the telephone side of GTE. He is living in Littleton, Conn., where he moved from California.
The entire Bill Schillhammer family was there, including two little tykes who came equipped with crayons and paper. Bill asks that anyone who would like to share photographs of classmates or family send them to him for inclusion in the newsletters.
The post-game mini-reunion was planned and executed by Tom and Sue Sokoloski, who came up from Glastonberry, Conn. Tom works for New York Life, and Sue is in the Insurance Medicine Department at Cigna. They have two girls (Sandy 4 and Julie 2), and Tom says that he is still sailing on Long Island Sound in his spare time. Tom and Sue wanted information on two lost classmates: K.C. got married to Elena and lost touch . . . Please come back to the real world, K.C."; and Peter Demarest,
who seems to have "dropped off the face of the earth." The Sokoloskis recently saw Bruce Wilkens and his wife, Beth Ann, who are living in Elmhurst, Ill., and have just finished an addition to their house. Apparently they are "madly dropping kids off at soccer, football, and gymnastics."
The Zimmerman Lounge was the site of the post-game gala, and I was able to corner a few classmates with my notepad in hand. Jim and Missy Clamage were there sans their children (Daron 3 and Krisin 5). Jim is still working in institutional equity sales at Sanford Bernstein, Inc., in New York.
Skip Cummins and his wife, Bambi '78, are living in Weston, Conn. Skip is a venture capitalist with Vista Group, in New Canaan and Bambi is a labor lawyer in New York. Skip was sad to report that his dog, Zeus '76 died this summer at the age of 15. Tom Sokoloski added that Zeus's college pal Tripper is still alive and kicking at 14. Others seen (but not cornered) include: Mike Fitzgerald, David "Missouri" Conner, Kevin Moore, Tom Parnon, CareyHeckman, Kathy and Jack Brennan, and Sara and Andy Hunter. Next time: Our class project idea, "Bonfires with a Conscience."
