The echoes of Penn's miniature cannon still ring in our ears. The Franklin Field fusillade forecasts frustration for Dartmouth fans this fall. Although the Big Green displayed varied offensive patterns during the fray, they were weak blocking and tackling, and handled (or mishandled) the pigskin in a manner only too familiar to alumni of our era. Statistics showed only two fumbles lost, but the Big Green backfield bobbled the ball at least ten times in the contest, making it appear that the Philadelphia officials had substituted a hot potato for the pigskin, or at least lubricated it thoroughly. Let's hope that between this writing and the publication of the November MAGAZINE there will be some reversal of form.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, it was an enjoyable afternoon. The stands were packed with fifty-fives, their families and friends. Seen at the "reception" in the University of Pennsylvania Museum after the game were Roger Young, Bob Comer, Hew Cook, Mike Buck, Jack Krumpe, "King" Foster, Dave Miller, Jim Keane, Bruce Berquist, Colin Hunt, Ace Hall, Dick Hogarty, Joe Bachman, Harry Millar, Tom McGreevey, Jack Cornman, Fred Darche, Paul Finegan, Dave Moore, Bud Pulis, John Rossiter, etc. Apologies to anyone seen or unseen and not included.

Before becoming engulfed by marriages and engagements, etc., a correction of some previous information is forthcoming. Somehow our news clipping agency provided your secretary with erroneous information about Bill Conrad and same was published last June. The news not only came to the wrong class secretary, but also contained some incorrect items. It will suffice to apologize to Bill and state that his wife's name is Georgia, and that the Conrads reside in Northbrook, Ill.

Presenting the mass of news available this month would force fellow class secretaries out of this issue, so we'll stick to pertinent facts and omit editorial comment.

All news that comes to this desk is not good news. Again death has touched the Class of Fifty-five. The tragic and untimely death of Dean Allard's little boy, Dean C. Allard III came as a shock to all those who are close to Dean and his family. Little Dean would have been three years old this year. The Class of Fifty-five extends its heartfelt sympathy to the Allards. (The family had asked that in lieu of flowers contributions be sent to the Cooperative School for Handicapped Children, Unitarian Church of Arlington, Arlington, Va.)

Space and time are closing in on me, so this will be "it" for another month. So long for now.
