This note from Ted Cart of Lake Wales, Fla., arrived just too late last May to include in copy for the summer edition: "First of all, my deep appreciation for what must seem like a thankless job much of the time. Here is my small contribution from one of the survivors. I am reasonably well except for growing blindness and immobility. On the nicer side, Dorothy and I just celebrated our 63 rd wedding anniversary. Also, we are now greatgrandparents for the sixth time. By the way, how many of our classmates are still around? If you have time, let me know." A model message other classmates might emulate!
It occurred to us that others might like an answer to Ted's question. The Alumni Office in April listed 45 men (plus EbenWallace, who passed away that month), of I whom, alas, 12 have the notation "not in terested." The same list includes 93 widows, not necessarily an accurate count, since their passing is not routinely reported to Alumni Records. Next year marks 1920's 70th year out of college. How many of us will make it to Hanover in June?
Spring rains brought lush greenery to New Hampshire and Vermont also many small identified flying objects! With love,
