It is gratifying to have news of children and grandchildren of classmates who are following the Dartmouth tradition. Through my St. Thomas Church (Hano- ver) affiliation, I am in touch with Amy Welch '87, granddaughter of Dick Welch and daughter of Josiah H. Welch '51. Her story: "I am currently a senior majoring in religion. I was recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa. As you know, I have been active in the Edgerton House and was an intern there this summer. I am also involved in the Tucker Foundation, including the Prison Project, Big Brother/Big Sister Program, and the Tucker Fellowship (which provided me with the funding to work with refugee resettlement in Washington, D.C.). I am thinking of divinity school for next fall." The young are wonderful!

The Christmas letter of Doc Miller's son Erwin H. ("Dusty") '62 states that daughter Emilie, a senior at Worcester Academy, has both Dartmouth and Middlebury on her "preferred" list. We hope the Middlebury sweater she is wearing in the accompanying picture does not indicate her real preference!

Sig Sigler, back in Florida, has sent a most pleasing snapshot of Doc and our sadly missed Sherm taken at the class's 50th reunion. Happy memories!

From Laura Carter's daughter Kit Stevenson in Phoenix, at Christmas: "Mom still doing well in good spirits."

"Neighboring" classes continue to furnish items. The Reverend Monsignor Carlos Sanchez '23 of Baton Rouge, La., has written me of the long-ago Vermont hiki ng trip he and A 1 Frey and Al's dog Chuck went on, which was enlivened by Chuck's night encounter with a very pungent skunk. Monsignor Sanchez still cherishes a snapshot of Chuck sent him by Al. Do you remember this, Al?

And Dick Litchfield '22 promises more of his reminiscences about 1920 men in sports for future issues of TWENTY.

Alumni Research and Records would like to know if anyone (1920 or neighboring classes) can furnish current addresses for John A. Collom, James. J. Hennessey, and Vertis O. Miller. Information should be sent to Kelly White at the Blunt Alumni Center.

Between the writing of this column and its publication, Pat and I will have enjoyed a winter holiday in Quebec City. We'd love to receive any news of you and yours at any time.
