Henceforth it is Jack andCarole Giegerich, now that vows have been exchanged at their Greenwood Farm home in Wayne, Pa., last June 17. Actively participating in a moving outdoor ceremony were Jack's and Carole's children and relatives. Nine classmates were also present to share in the joy of this celebration. The newlyweds went on to enjoy a honeymoon in Tortola, BWI. Jack's initiative has been instrumental in the way our class has been setting the pace in mini-reunion plans. As a tradition-in-the-making, we are continuing our Saturday morning panel discussions of timely issues on the Dartmouth Night weekend (the Yale game weekend of October 13-15). This year's topic promises to be especially stimulating: the many ramifications (scientific, social, philosophical, religious) of the"new physics" in life today. Batch has sent you detailed information via the newsletter about this panel, including a fascinating book to read entitled The Dancing Wu LiMasters (Bantam, $4.95). Thus, our Dartmouth Night weekend offers not only exciting football and camaraderie but also a significant intellectual dimension as well. Last year some 113 of our class family enjoyed the various aspects of our gatherings, and we hope to see even more this fall.

And don't overlook the chance to be a Wearer of the Green at two other football weekends: the Harvard game in Cambridge on October 21 and the Penn game in Philly on November 18.

Our class has much to be proud of in its efforts to provide a series of worthy class projects which have been funded by the continuing support of about 69 percent of our 585 members. Those of you who have unfailingly paid your dues over the years are the reason why our class can engage in a lengthening series of meaningful and much appreciated endeavors such as the following: maintaining the Baker bells, funding internships at the Hood Museum, providing tickets to sports and theatrical events for workers at the College and for the handicapped, helping the DOC in its support of Hanover's Ford Sayre Ski Club to provide instruction to all local children, defraying some of the expense of the Hopkins Center's music appreciation program for children of the Upper Valley, and securing a significant work of art to donate to the Hood on the occasion of our 40th Reunion in 1991.

In short, your class executive committee has been diligent in its efforts to be worthy of your support. Our class treasurer, HowieRead, has been unstinting in his attempts to bring more of you into the ranks of the dues-payers. If you are not currently a duespaying member of our class, won't you now join us by sending your check of $20.00 (or more) to Howard K. Read, RR 126-A, Orange, NH 03741? Good!
