When I was nine years old I thought the best part of Thanksgiving was the choice of pies made by my four aunts. Now at 90,1 was quite happy with a drumstick from one of Mr. Perdue's oven stuffers, Mrs. Bailey's vegetables, and a piece of Mrs. Smith's pumpkin pie.

At nine I tried to skate without falling down. At 90, I try to avoid writing about myself, but you old girls and boys seldom send me any news. If you have arthritic hands I am sure a relative or friend will be glad to do the writing for you. How are your eyes and ears? Do you play solitaire, scrabble, bridge? Do you walk half a mile every day? Do you drink beer, wine, rum, or expensive scotch? I pause for your reply.
