Called Bob Monahan on his birthday and sent him Dan Luten's sane and authoritative book on the American Landscape. Dan is preparing to speak to a student group on the real sources of our conservation policy. He no longer tries to teach full time, but he's still doing things.
The New Hampshire Charitable Fund announces a $10,000 grant from its DudleyW. Orr fund, citing Dud's many services to the state. And the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Oregon has named its book award program for Hal Hirsch. These items only hint at their fine records of service.
More than '29ers will want to know that Bob Lyle is now at 8668 Skyline Drive, Dallas, TX 75243. Dick Brown's lovely widow Florence wrote a gracious note, remembering our happy mini-reunions. She's grateful to Archie Crowley for coming to Detroit to conduct Dick's memorial service, now almost four years ago.
