There were several Californians among my correspondents this month. Larry Friedricks is an executive vice president at Fries Entertainment in Hollywood. Larry says that Fries is the biggest producer of mini-series and "movies of the week" for the three major networks. Some of their recent productions include Farrah Fawcett in "Small Sacrifices" for ABC, "The Neon Empire" mini-series for Showtime, and "The Hillside Strangler" starring Richard Crenna and Dennis Farina for NBC. Larry and his wife, the former Paula Fierman, love it in California and can't imagine how they spent "those windchill winters in New York."

CBS trial lawyer Herb Schoenberg attended the graduation of his daughter Jill '89 in Hanover last June.

Rennie Spaulding, senior vice president and manager of the private banking division at Bank of America in San Francisco, writes the he has "... two sons in college (one at Trinity and the other at U.C. Berkeley), a daughter in the eighth grade, a lovely wife who is active in the art world, two dogs, a cat, and a big mortgage."

Joe Scardapane attended the first-time marriage of Bill Beshore a while back and told us about the event (see the February 1989 column). Now, Bill returns the favor and tells us of Joe's marriage to Mary Lee O'Grady on August 6, 1989. Congratulations, Joe! Also in attendance were Dave Campbell and Fritz Arens. Bill and Martha, his bride of some two years, were at the time looking forward to a month in Italy.

Gerry Silverberg, promoted to acting division head of neurosurgery at Stanford Medical Center, recently celebrated the 25 th anniversary of his marriage to the former Donna Work, a 1962 graduate of Wellesley and a 1965 graduate of Columbia Law School. The Silverbergs have three sons who are all in their early 20s.

Moving back East, Bill Colehower requests '59s to forward their suggestions and nominations for new '59 class officers to him at 863 Easton Road, Warrington, PA 18976.

Jim Neff writes from Newport News, Va., that after 28 years he sold his Ohio insurance business and is now general manager for C.D. West & Co., an insurance and real estate firm on the peninsula in Virginia. The Neffs now live some 16 miles from Williamsburg. Jim looks forward to becoming more active in alumni matters.

Charlie Pinkerton, who still runs an insurance business in Cleveland, says his oldest son Bob, 25, just got an M.B.A. degree at the University of Chicago and will work for Continental Bank there, that second son David, 23, is with Wyse Advertising in Cleveland, and that youngest son Stewart, 21, is studying engineering at Vanderbilt.
