I ran into John Sotos at the annual Dartmouth Club of Maryland Christmas dinner. After listening to my festive complaints about the lack of material for the monthly class column, John told me to chill out, to have another double scotch on the rocks, and to wait for his long overdue report. It arrived and he's a god. John is a fellow in cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Last April, John conned (his choice of words, not mine) a once-respectable (ditto) group in Philadelphia into publishing his book on diagnosing uncommon medical conditions. If one of our classmates buys a copy, John's sales will have doubled. In October, John was one of 100 applicants who were interviewed by NASA for the astronaut program. While in Houston, John visited John Bohn, who has his own law firm.
Bjorn Gudmundsson, his wife, Margaret, and their two children, are living in Iceland; Bjorn is teaching chemistry at the largest high school in the country. Avid outdoorsmen, the Gudmundssons spend countless hours wading barefoot across glacial streams.
Received a Christmas card from the Cranes. T.J. is now a partner in the corporate department of his law firm in Southern California. Now that the offspring total three, Ellen has decided to take an extended sabbatical from her litigation practice. The Cranes have firmly pledged to make the trek from Irving for our reunion this spring.

1989 must have been an exceedingly prosperous year for T. Rowe Price Associates, the employer of our class treasurer, Charlie Vieth. I dropped by the Vieth estate last week and Claudia was directing a construction team that appeared to be building Southfork II. Large Chuck was, of course, nowhere to be found he purportedly was parked in some duck blind squawking away at a distant flock.
Ted Winterer is trying to set an all-time record for donations to the Alumni Fund by a reunion class. He is asking for a onetime major pledge; also, if applicable, be sure to check about matching corporate gifts.
You should be confirming your reunion reservations within the next few weeks.
