In April I didn't have room to mention CharlieWidmayer's interesting and informative talk February 9 to the Dartmouth Club of Tucson. Though presumably retired, he knows what is going on in Hanover. His talk was upbeat and enthusiastically received.

The Ted Wolfs are in Tucson visiting son Roger '60. We all attended the Tucson club's monthly luncheon March 9. The Widmayers and I lunched with the Wolfs March 12, and Ted, Charlie, and I caucussed afterward. We're looking forward to the Dartmouth Glee Club's first-ever Tucson appearance the 15th. I can't critique the concert for you because of my March 15 deadline, but I doubt we'll hear our old favorite, "Eleazar Wheelock."

Reminiscing recently about Dartmouth's victory in the National Glee Club Championship at Carnegie Hall 60 years ago, Johnny Marsh said that one of the judges told him later that it was "Eleazar" that gave us the victory. It's ironic that the country's best college song is now outlawed. If we could get John back to our 60th, he, EvLew, Charlie Rauch, Ellie Gilbert, and I could chirp a verse of "Eleazar" in memory of late glee-clubbers Red Doherty, HowieEldridge, and Jack Hodges.

A newsy letter from Bob Keene confirms that he sold "La Ultima Casa" in Mexico but retained rights for two years in a guest house on the property. Living alone isn't his choice (nor mine), but he recently enjoyed the company of George and LuluGeiger, who "fell" for a house in nearby San Miguel de Allende. They then went home, Bob says, to recover from the hassle of finalizing legal affairs in Mexico. Bob's cooking "improves each day." By now he's back in God's country for the Reunion. BE THERE!

Finally, a letter from Jean (George)Fisher informs me (and probably other classmates) that she is chairing a drive to underwrite a Kay Hodell Chilcote Memorial Fund. It will finance art scholarships at Cleveland's Laurel School, which both Jean and Kay attended. Lee has led off with a substantial nest egg. Any who wish may contribute.
