June is almost here. Like children at Christmas time, I know each of you are marking off your dayplanner sheets until our reunion.

Susan Fagerstrom has arranged a dance in Berry Sports Center. Grant and Anne(Daigneault) MacEwan are in charge of food and beverages. They are planning continental breakfasts in the tent and dinners at both Thompson and renovated Thayer Hall. Katie Wiley has arranged for Ron Green, voted by our class as Teacher of the Year in 1980, to be our Saturday night speaker. Ann Munves is working on gifts, including sunglasses, hats, and surprises. Lynn Bodden is arranging a memorial service, with clergy classmates from several denominations. Ann Robinson did the logo. Parker and Katie (Currier) Small are doing a great job with Sue Fagerstrom of tying all the plans together.

Lest readers of this column think the class of 'BO is all play and no work, I present the following financial news: The board of directors of Amoskeag Bank has elected Michael Perrella to the position of vice president, commerical lending. Amoskeag Bank, the largest bank in New Hampshire, is an affiliate of Amoskeag Bankshares, Inc., a multi-bank holding company with assets exceeding $2 billion. When not banking, Mr. Perrella serves as vice chairman of the allocations committee of United Way of Greater Manchester, and is a member of such civic organizations as the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Queen City Kiwanis Club. A hearty congratulations to Mr. Perrella.

Amid all the revelry at reunion, we will be voting on class officers to guide us for the next five years. I have already been informed that I have not been nominated to continue as class secretary. Well, you won't have me to kick around any more. I was only following orders. I was proud to serve my class, and I would do it again. (At this point, eyes moisten and camera zooms in for closeup.)

In all seriousness, let me take this moment in a slow news day to say "Thank you" for allowing me to serve as your secretary. As did Jane Pauley when she left the Today Show, I look forward to the future with guarded optimism and wish only the best for the Deborah Norville who replaces me. And now to close in the words of wisdom I recently learned while watching yet another rented movie (oh the joys of staying home on Friday and Saturday nights filled with adult and parental responsibility!), "Be excellent to one another." As for the reunion, "Party down, dudes!"
