Faithful correspondent Sig Sigler of Largo, Fla., sends a typically upbeat note. After expressing sorrow at Nancy Holbrook's passing, Sig writes that he and Betty, 67 years married, still try to be "busy, active, and alert. (It ain't easy with our stiff joints!)"

Recuperating from successful cancer surgery in late September at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, I was fortunate enough to be among those conveyed by ambulance on October 5 to the magnificent new Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, just over the line in Lebanon, where I enjoyed the amenities (and the view) for several days. For anyone visiting the Upper Valley, the DHMC is a must-see!
