It is always heartening to hear from younger members of the 1920 family, even when the letter includes sad news. Benjamin H. Watts '84 has written movingly about the passing last summer of his grandfather, Richard A. "Dick"Watts, in Adrian, Mich. Adrian was Dick's hometown, and he spent most of his life there as a successful banker and avid golfer (playing well into his nineties). A formal obituary will appear in a later issue, but I quote here from the final paragraph of Benjamin's tribute:

"He and I spent many hours discussing our common experiences at Dartmouth, which he followed in the Alumni Magazine and the Review. Although Dick never originally liked the idea of coeducation, he eventually had a change of heart. On a beautiful June day in Hanover on the weekend of my graduation, the family was having lunch on the Hanover Inn terrace. After noticing all of the female students walking around campus and on the Green, Dick announced that it might have been nice to have had women at Dartmouth during his college years." Would that more older alumni shared this sentiment! No news is not good news! Faithfully,
