It hasn't been easy getting back into the routine of monthly columns after an 11-year hiatus. Apologies to all.

Since letters, calls, faxes, or smoke signals from classmates are scarce (read virtually non-existent), I'll pass along information acquired at Reunion.

I took a few snapshots at Reunion, and descriptions are in order.

Perhaps the most interesting shot was of five of us seeking refuge in the tunnel under the new (to us) east stands of Memorial Field for about 20 minutes when a torrential downpour interrupted our stroll to the class dinner at the new (to us) Thompson Arena. All look in remarkably good spirits. In the group are Skip and Betty Battle, who had come with teenage children Dan and Emily from Chicago, where Skip is with Anderson Consulting. They were preparing to move back to the San Francisco area in an Anderson job shift. Hope you're all settled in. Next to the Battles is Roberta Siedman wife of Andy. Andy had, with great prescience, headed back for an umbrella, leaving Bobbie toteless bareheaded and under, of all things, my wing. The Siedmans are neighbors and friends in White Plains, N.Y. They came to Reunion with 14-year-old ninth grader Richie, and ten-year-old fifth grader Lauren. Andy is chief counsel for the large Olympia & York real-estate organization in New York City, and Bobbie is a social worker and active PTA member.

Also pictured is my old roommate BobCohn. Bob has enjoyed a career in many facets of direct marketing and is currently publisher of Horticulture Magazine in Boston.

A second photo is of Peter and Ann Prichard. Pete and I shared sports information office responsibilities at Dartmouth for part of our senior year. Now he's editor of USA Today for the Gannett chain... and I'm class notes editor. Humm? Pete was at the reunion with his tennis playing 15-year-old Oliver and daughter Lindsay.

Suzanne Bryson had come east from Denver and husband Gary had come west from Europe. Gary had been pursuing his new venture responsibilities for U.S. West. Daughter Kelly has now started her freshman year at Dartmouth with Lisa, 15, waiting in the wings.

Andy and Thelmla Strauss came up from Boston with Jackie and Benjamin. He's with computer software publisher Interleaf in Newton. Bill and Ann Ferris traveled two hours north from Springfield, Mass., where Bill is a professor at Western New England College. Ken Bergen, an effervescent pet medicine scientist, soled in from Laguna Beach, Calif.

Bob and Ellen Bryant, along with sixth grader Emily and seventh grader Sarah, reuned from Wilmington, Del. Ellen teaches at a private school and Bob, after 20 years in "Big Business,' is looking for an entrepreneurial venture he can build. Need someone to turn-it-around or make-it-grow? Call Bob at 302/ 984-2446.

Others at reunion: Ken, Ann, Beth, and Kathryn Zuhr, from Gilroy Calif, (yes, that's right the garlic capital of the world). He's a teacher/trainer for Digital Equipment Corporation. Then there was Harvard College Counsel Al Ryan, wife Nancy, and Elizabeth and Andrew. And I rubbed elbows with L.A. lawyer Steve Sloca and wife Kim.

Hope all is well. Hope all will write.
