First things first fellows, and it's time to remind you Oust in case you haven't heard) of the Alumni Fund Drive. Bob Van Dam and his crew have put in long hours setting up our class drive. Let's get behind their efforts and actively participate in the drive this year.
Kent Slaby sent on news from 626 Caldwell Street in Piqua, Ohio, where he toils for a rubber processing equipment company. Kent joined the married ranks last year and Alice Ann McClain of Columbus, Ohio, became Mrs. Slaby. Kent's job has given him great opportunity for travel, and he and Alice have been stationed in Liberia, North Sumatra, and Indonesia. If Paul Snow and Marty Quadland are listening, Kent is curious as to your whereabouts.
Thanks are in order for the former Ann Wright for prompting Jay Parsons to bring us up to date. Ann is a graduate of Grinnell College in lowa, and spent two years along with Jay under the auspices of the International Voluntary Services. The marital bliss began last September while Jay was in grad school at Johns Hopkins. Jay has added an M.A. in international relations but his Ph.D. will have to wait as he and Ann will be heading for Thailand this summer where Jay will conduct a village attitude study.
Bill Foss, now a ranking Captain in the USMCR, is happily wed to the former Prudence Wing of Pennington, N. J. Bill is a practicing attorney in New Jersey where he set up after graduating from Rutgers Law School where, he was on the Law Review.
Bruce Jackson is getting set to head down the aisle shortly. Gayle White of West Orange, N. J., who attends that institution in Northampton, is the prospective bride. Bruce is a Ph.D. candidate at l'Institut de Hautes Etudes Internationales where he matriculated after picking up his master's in International Studies at Johns Hopkins.
Back in November in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyo., Bill Bassett hitched up with Susan Greene from New Canaan, Conn. Bill and Susan are packed in at Alta, Utah, where Bill toils for Uncle Sam specializing in avalanche control. Chuck Henderson checked into the married club in November also as he set up house with Pamela Fenton of Monroeville, Ohio, a graduate of Wittenberg University.
Allan Barrows picked Katherine Horn of Gardena, Calif., to be his Dartmouth bride. Katherine received her B.A. from UCLA and she and Al are both working toward their Ph.D.s in geology at that sunshine school. Around the bend in Durham, N. H., can be found Bill Emerson and his new bride Carol Starzyk. They met while doing Peace Corps duty in the Dominican Republic. Both are now pursuing their master of teaching arts degree at the University of New Hampshire.
The good fellows from Cambridge, through the Department of City and Regional Planning in the Harvard School of Design, have awarded a Richard King Mellon fellowship to Bob Herz. Bob picked up his master's at Johns Hopkins before landing this award.
Charlie Gaillard is doing his daily push ups for Wheaties now. After earning his master's at Harvard, Charlie joined General Mills in Minneapolis as a marketing assistant in the grocery products department.
