Hey, where is my mind? I should have given this award long ago, but better late than never: Paul Griffin is our latest Tabloid Fixture of Tomorrow in honor of his stunning appearance on "All My Children" last December 7. Paul played a college student who lived next door to one of the show's main characters. As an acting job it many not have been much of a reach, but it was a start, and at least Paul didn't have to dress as a woman, a la Tootsie, to get the job.
Now, for more rock and less talk: Sherri Burkholder writes with news aplenty, leading with the wedding of Sue Kelly to Erik Meidl '87 in Philly late last year. Both are at Penn Med School, and the wedding was conducted by Father John McHugh of our own Aquinas House. Medical careers are, predictably, ahead for both.
Shannon Grant joined Sherri as maid of honor in the wedding. Shannon's now living in Hanover and working for Geographic Data Technology Inc. in computer mapping. Sherri, meanwhile, lives in Washington, D.C., and she's press secretary to Congressman Vin Webber (R-Minn.). "He's often referred to as Newt Gingrich's alter ego," Sherri said. Sherri is also taking courses at the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria.
Lots of young alums are on Sherri's regular circuit, including our own Tim Burger, who writes for Roll Call, the newspaper of Capitol Hill. Also in D.C. is John Natalie, who was working at WLCC/WRAA radio in Luray, Va., "the last time I checked," Sherri said.
Another wedding spurred another letter, this one from Jonathan Risch, who was on hand for Mike Freidburg's betrothal to Lissy Perryman, whom Mike met while in Cambridge, England. The couple now lives in Princeton, N.J., where Mike is studying at the Woodrow Wilson school and Lissy works for Princeton University Press.
Also on hand were Peter Trump (working for Apple Computer in California), QuentinCote ("banking in New England," writes John), Tom Molnar (trading oil for Cargill Petroleum), Ernest Wotring (by now, probably finished at U. of Chicago Law) and, of course, John himself, who works at Strategic Planning Associates in D.C.
A beautiful postcard came in from Australia, where Brad Winslow was vacationing and visiting his girlfriend after studying obstetrics and gynecology in Auckland, New Zealand. Brad is officially in med school at the University of North Carolina, and when he's there he lives at home and gloats over the "Tar Heels' Final Four hoop season. While in Melbourne, Brad ran into Sue Watkins at a hostel; Sue then joined Brad on the postcard and told of her world travels since quitting U.S. Trust in Boston last year. Sue was "trying to follow summer around the world," so let's hope she's safe and sound back on these shores soon, it being summer and all.

Some folks will go to great lengths to get to reunion. Take D. Valentine '86, for instance—he rode his bicycle. From Denver. He started out April 26, stopped to visit alumni fiendsin Chicago and Boston on the way, and anived in Hanover in time for reunion registration. Why did he do it? "I still don't know," he said, "but it's great to finally be here."
