A special treat comes to a class secretary every now and then, especially to the secretary of an older class whose ranks are steadily depleted by attrition. Such a treat came this month from four classmates who had not been heard from in some years.

One was from Chet Norback who said "This is the first answer I have written in sixty years (give or take five or ten years). Something in your writing or choice of words just made me want to answer your birthday card. After the death of my wife of 61 years I moved to Missouri where I maintain my own home and enjoy my hobby of playing tie piano . . . at retirement and convalescent homes. At age 88, someone has to look after the old folks."

Another note came from John Reynders who writes from Worcester, Mass., that he and Louise are fortunate healthwise with no current ailments. They spent seven months of last year in Georgia and four in Worcester. Golf and gardening are their main activities at each location.

A third note is from Ken Yeaton who writes that he and Betty are both well. They spend eight months of the year in Naples, Fla., and four months in Owl's Head, Maine, jutting out into the ocean halfway up the coast of Maine.

News comes from our former hallmate in College Hall, Dick Mooney, that he and his wife, Paully, have finally moved into an apartment. They are both remarkably well and walk one to two miles a day. They spend a month or so in Arizona each winter, but no more skiing!

In April Tom Gillespie celebrated his 86th birthday when ten gathered at the home of his twin sister, Katherine Towe, for a family birthday party in Southbury, Conn. Later that month Bill Elliot came to Wayland from his home in Bedford, Mass., for a good visit and lunch with Ruth and me, which included a leisurely walk in the bright sunlight around our backyard. Bill has a daughter living about 25 miles away in Grafton whom he sees frequently.

We regret to report that we have only recently received reports of the death of M.Frank Amann on April 29, 1990.
