We suffered two deaths since our last. Dr. Ernie Heydt succumbed to cancer on May 17, and Sid Birge died suddenly at his home on May 19. We had a fine letter from Jack Graham recounting a pleasant visit at their home in Villanova, Penn., from Jerry and Joann Beatty en route to a rendezvous with one of their daughters in Maryland. Joann had heart surgery two years ago and now walks two vigorous miles daily to keep in shape. Jack is building a new boat house on his summer place at Crystal Lake (near Scranton, Penn.). The Grahams have two married children and five grandchildren within an hour's drive of their home, and a third child and family in Massachusetts.

Moreau Brown in San Francisco was expecting a visit from O'Bie Boldt in late June. He was hoping to get Bud Bodge to join them. Last May Brownie and wife Esther joined Len Viens in a Dartmouth Club tour of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, berthed in San Fran and captained by a BigGreen. Moreau has one more year, his sixth, to serve as president of Montefiore Senior Center before he tucks it in.

Bob Achorn met with George and PatMcllroy, in Roswell City, Ga., where Bob was attending a Morton Salt retirement party.

Phil and Beth Dressier celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Colorado with a son and family. He wonders how many of our class found a woman who would put up with them for 50 years. (Note, based on our files, I think Phil would be surprised at the number.)

"Not everyone at the Keene Country Club knows my older brother Weed and me the way they used to," writes George Hanna. Weed is four inches shorter than George, and according to George, his equal as an outfielder and a better golfer. Having signed up for a Memorial Day golf tournament, George says there was some confusion on the part of the matchmakers as to which one was playing when the name Hanna came up. Said one committee member, "There are two Hannas aren't there? Which one is George?" The answer came, "Oh, George is the tall one."

Shortly after the 4th of July, Bill and BunnyWebster dropped by our digs in York Harbor, Maine, en route to home after a northern visit. Web is recovering nicely from a shoulder operation, though not fast enough to please him. Dusty Rhode dropped over to join us, and we are pleased to report that he is finally getting back to normal from the auto accident he and Happy suffered in Florida last January. Happy is still having problems but making slow forward progress. While on the subject of the "halt," we also learn that our Prexy Bert MacMannis is rounding into shape after his bout with spinal arthritis. He hopes he'll be up for golf at our mini.
