45 To his delight, FrankAldrich found that the "Dartmouth grad" a friend in Danbury, Conn., had invited to join them at lunch was none other than HankBlansfield, M.D., disguised though he was in dark glasses and pork-pie golf hat. Hank no longer practices fulltime, but, like most professional men, is active in certain aspects of medicine which

Word comes that Bob Paulson did it again! Harry Hampton, who masqueraded again as a tenor because he enjoyed it so much the first time, snuck in when Bob directed male alumni Glee Clubbers from the classes of 1952 (their 40th) and 1956-57-58 (their 35th). Spaulding Auditorium was packed, and when Bob's group was through there wasn't a dry eye in die house.

Bob Steiner is in residence in Washing ton, D.C., still active in the toy business and economic writings. After a summer at their home in Northern Ontario, Bob and Christine are taking a fall Smithsonian cruise, The Voyage of Odysseus," which traces the journey of Ulysses.

Heading south are Jean and Art Pounds, from Orinda in die San Fran Bay area, to 17760 Camino Murrillo, San Diego, CA 92128. Despite the move, the Pounder says he'll honor his pledge to guest-write this column before year's end. Watch this space.

Chan Stein writes that he's survived 40 years in good health, teaching business law at SUNY in Albany, as well as practicing law. Now retired, he divides time between Florida in the winter and the Adirondacks in the summer. (Sounds ideal.) Holland and Belgium were destinations in April.

From Ludlow, New Brunswick, Canada EOC-IPO, Jim Wilson reports having been released from die hospital after a serious bout with pneumonia, complicated by pleurisy and heart sac inflammation. No longer does he give public harpsichord performances, and he says he's doubtfril about future winter freighter junkets, at which he once starred. Hang in there, Jim.

An Elderhostel program at Fryeburg, Maine, proved enjoyable and worthwhile for Joan and me in August. Tacked on was a stay with hospitable Don and Rickie Cole in Cape Elizabeth. While there, the four of us made a short trip to Owl's Head, Maine, to see Tomand Jane Yates' new year-round home a lovely, roomy place overlooking the water. A delicious crabmeat lunch was followed by a hike to Owl's Head Light. Delightful weather and scenery plus good '45 company made for a perfect day.

Finally, but not leastly, a big cheer for BobPease, who, in his firstyear on the job, brought our Alumni Fund effort above $90,000, which was our goal. The year after a reunion is always tough, but that didn't phase Bob. Well done.

Thought for the Month: "Nowadays, the only student who walks a mile to school is one who couldn't find a parking place."
