Bob and Eleanor Balgley kept their promise to see me en route to their family party at Stratton Mountain. Good to learn how much they en joyed the maiden voyage of Crown Jewel from Barcelona to New York. Now, back to Palm Beach.

Frank Everts still lives on Cape Cod and enjoys the life of a country squire. He and Shirley keep up with their son, a radiologist at Jackson Hole, Wyo., and granddaughters in West Coast colleges.

Also at the Cape, but just in the summer, Bill and Jane Daniells still enjoy their lovely waterfront home, happy that no hurricane arrived there this year. I hope our Florida '34s escaped Andrew.

Al and Lee Hine are still in Lyme, Conn., where they helped host the annual Dartmouth canoe Trip to the Sea. They celebrated their 50th in August.

Art Eriksen wrote that he and Alma sold their Millington, N.J., home and moved to a retirement community in nearby Hightstown, with 300 residents, good maintenance, cleaning, and dining. Sounds like my Kendal.

A special treat of retiring to Hanover is access to lectures and discussions, many in Rockefeller Center. After one event I walked upstairs arid saw the fine Oscar M.Ruebhausen Study Room, a treasured gift from our classmate. Thank you, Oscar!

A happy surprise, while watching Dartmouth beat Bucknell, was seeing next to me on the 50-yard line a classmate I hadn't seen in years, Henry Hazen, with wife Betty. They like their new residence in Salem, Mass.

The football season will be over when you read this, and I hope it has ended on a note as high for the Big Green as it began with our opening win against Penn. That was great for 1934's mini-reunion. Over 50 were present for the meeting at Smoyer Lounge and for dinners at Pierce's Inn and the Hanover Inn. Bill Scherman provided names and details in his upbeat September 30 newsletter. Plans for our 60th (Junel3-15, 1994) were worked on at an advance meeting of our executive committee. Be sure to hold that date in mind.
