Olympic Heights

DARTMOUTH athletes have participated in every Winter Olympics since 1924. At Lake Placid in 1932, John Shea '34 received two gold medals in speed skating. Other winners include Chiharu Igaya '57, who won a skiing silver medal in 1956; Peter Kirby '54, who garnered a bronze in 1964 for bobsledding; and disabled skiers Diana Golden '84 (gold) and Martha Hill '82 (bronze), who competed in 1988.
