LIBRES BY THE NUMBERS
THERE IS A CERTAIN deuteronomy of libraries. The College made a splash about acquiring its second millionth book recently. Eight libraries hold the collections, consisting also of 20,000 periodicals and more than five million pages of unpublished manuscripts.
With all this material comes cramped quarters. The impending library expansion is expected to relieve a space crunch that has forced the library to store thousand of texts in a warehouse on Route 10.
