Happy New Year, 1992! The year has a nice ring to it, kind of like 1972. A quick retrospective look at 20 years ago would find you leaving for your last spring break. Muskie, McGovern, and McCarthy were a recent memory in New Hampshire, and Sapporo made you think of skiing and skating as opposed to something to wash down the sushi. Let's kick it back to the fhture ...

Down in Florida, Huey Lewis look-alike Pete Broberg reports that Kirk Freidland is practicing law, and is married and has a one-and-a-half-year-old child. In what is now old news, Pete represented The Donald (Trumpster) last spring in his attempts to get re-zoning for his Palm Beach estate. Pete got paid in advance.

Up in Vermont, David Rath has been tear ing up the roads with his rollerblades. Actually, Dave has been tearing them up all over. He is the top-ranked skater (blader?) in our age group on the East Coast. At the national championships he placed fourth in the 10-K, despite a fall, and second in the 30-K. Citius, Altius, Fortius!

Speaking of sports, Mr. Versatility, CharlieNearburg, was seen and heard from on ESPN last year. Charlie has become one of the stars of the Super Vee auto-racing circuit. In recognition of his move into the top ten, ESPN featured him in an interview last October. If you had your VCR set on October 17, you can go to the videotape.

In a presidential election year, it is appropriate to get a few comments from President Dico (the incumbent). Bob King is spending most of his time in Chicago, renovating and converting apartments. Last fall he and his wife had another little King, Matthew. BobBassett is working on the 30-hour day in Boston, I believe. He is in graduate school in education, doing volunteer work at two schools, and participating in charity benefit races. Gary Shanley is alive and well in Baltimore. Young Dawkins is stalking big bucks (seven-point) for the campaign in Hanover. Jim Harmon works in New York for Reuters. And finally, Brendan O'Neill was seen playing in New York (or at least watching Dartmouth and Columbia play) while on a trip from L.A.
