Pitchers and catchers have reported! Can Reunion be far behind? Why would you want to go to Reunion, back to the scene of the best years of your life, getting together with some of the all-around neatest (sorry for the slip back to the '6os) people you ever met? Shameless huckster that I am, I'll tell you about the "mother of all reunions" that Burkie has been planning until he has started to refer to himself as "toast."

For those planning to get up to New Hampshire early, Shel Prentice has set up the last great bargain of the twentieth century, the Moosilauke outing on Wednesday. For $50 per adult ($30 per child), you get an organized hike (at your pace), dinner, lodging, and breakfast the next day. As an added incentive, Shel has promised there would be no class ties foisted upon the unsuspecting. The entertainment is almost finalized but this we know: Friday we have DuffCummings' band playing Oldies (a.k.a. "the last great music" to the Lip). Saturday we have a band which plays everything from strangely interesting variations of Dartmouth standards (not to be confused with the Goldberg variations) to rock to chamber music. There is also a rumor of a performance by a classmate which is still contingent on his schedule.

In addition, we have Storrs Pond for a family picnic on Friday, the golf and tennis tournaments for the competitively challenged, and a fun run for those who are not. Some excellent panels have been set up including one on the state of health care with Dr. Bob Arnott of network TV fame. Throughout, we will have Pat & Tony's beer truck arranged by Mouse Anderson and tunes to be supplied by John Rockwell and the Lip. If you have not given a definitive yes, expect to hear from Joe Davis, Wizzer, and their minions. If you are coming, give a call to another classmate you would like to see and test your persuasive charms. The response has been excellent so far, but there is still time to plan to come.

News of classmates via Joe DavisJamie Macarthur is the CFO of Skydome in Toronto; Jack Brooks is a lawyer in Moline, III.; Mike Huff is in Kansas City; and Jack Manning is training for one last alumni rugby game this spring against Harvard. Dr. Fred Craigie, who teaches at Dartmouth Medical School, took a sabbatical to teach at the University of Texas in Austin. Joe reports efforts to send to Faulkner White's e-mail address have resulted in notes "lost in cyberspace," and Joe also reports that he finally spelled Lawrie Lieberman's name correctly.

Hoping to see some names move from the considering to the definite list for reunion include Bang, Mole, and "EtnaLoop" Moore. Din an—you are too close to not come up and give Shirey a run for his money. Speaking of which—will Potter finally show and how about Gamboo? Speaking of track, Dartmouth coach Barry Harwick '77 wants me to remind classmates about a reception for alums and family at Leverone on that Saturday at 4 p.m. Catch up and then plan your race strategy for the hangover 10-k on Sunday. On a sadder note, Joel Reader has died. More to follow in a future edition.
