Students returning to Bucks County Community College in Newtown, Pa., will be greeted by a new president this month. His name is Jim Linksz, and he's only the third president in the college's 27-year history. Jim comes to Bucks County after an outstanding 12-year career as dean of instruction at Catonsville Community College, Catonsville, Md., a college of 700 faculty and more than 25,000 students in its continuing education program. Earlier he was professor of art and humanities and chairperson of the Humanities Division. After earning his doctorate at Columbia, Jim served as dean of instruction at Rappahannock Community College in Virginia and chair of the Maryland Community College Council of Academic Deans. Founded in 1965, Bucks County has 12,000 students. Jim and Donna have three kids: Timothy 17, Justin 15, and Elizabeth 13.

Bud Weinstein of Dallas continues to rise in the academic world. He was named chairman of the Department of Applied Economics at the University of North Texas in Denton. Bud and Marti, a school nurse, have a son, Dan, at the University of Texas, and a daughter, Rachel, in elementary school. John McCamy of Arcadia, Calif., was appointed chief cost engineer for one of Los Angeles County's mass transit rail systems. Daughter Katherine is a nurse in Grand Forks, N.D.; Linda is at Moorhead (Minn.) State U.; and Jennifer attends North Dakota State University.

Evan Lasky, new executive vice president and chief operating officer of Pak Mail Centers of America, Aurora, Colo., has a long background in retailing and franchises. He was chief executive officer of Budget Tapes and Records, a national franchiser based in Denver. Son Scott manages Tower Video, part of a well-known chain, at its Lincoln Center location in New York. Wife Sandra is marketing director of the new Colorado Symphony. The Laskys live in Denver.

Joan Swirsky, wife of Steve Swirsky, won two awards from the Long Island Press Association for articles on changing trends in sex therapy and psychotherapy in the Long Island section of The New York Times. Steve is president of Waterlines, a Franklin, N.J., company that sells swimming pools and lawn sprinklers. They live in Great Neck, N.Y.

Another spouse making good, Carolyn Schaefer, wife of David, Concord, Mass., was profiled in the Boston Globe for her nationally famous Carolyn's Spice Pecans. There's talk of exporting them to Japan. Schaef claims the peas in his garden are seven feet tall.

Roger Parkinson was in New York recently to cover the Democratic convention for the Minneapolis Star Tribune, where he is publisher. Launny Steffens, top exec at Merrill Lynch, has been invited back to ABC's "Business World" to talk about the investment climate.

Don't forget October 16-17, the Yale Homecoming Weekend, and the 30th Reunion June 14—17, which will include the classes of '62 and '64.
