At Homecoming, the Yale game provided an exciting afternoon. In addition to us locals, Jack and Bobbie Tobin came up from Rhode Island, Nick and Betty Nanos all the way from Florida, and Ed and Jackie Marceau from Burlington, with apples for us from their Chateau Orchard. Gene and Nina Orsenigo made their usual appearance also at the Columbia game but were upset they had to miss Princeton because of a family wedding.

When you get to Hanover, you should visit the new Burke Laboratory, the fine new home for the Chemistry Department. I was at its dedication, which featured remarks from three Dartmouth presidents.

A recent treat was hearing from fellow Buckeye Jack Fish in Atlanta, where he has practiced as an obstetrician for many years. More on Buckeyes: Dick Campen and JohnAnderson, our two Cleveland authors, were together for the first time in years while autographing books at the Cleveland Authors Festival. Two other Ohioans, Art Mo bius and Leon Lindheim, were at the Decorative Arts meeting in the Coshocton area.

Things I never knew about Arthur Wood came to light at dinner here in Kendal. Woody went back to Ann Arbor for his master's then to Wisconsin for his Ph.D. He met his wife, Heidi, there. Then many years as a professor of sociology at University of Buffalo and UConn, teaching assignments in Ceylon and Australia, and lots of hiking in between.

Alan Tawes, who spent many years in shoe manufacturing, keeps Keene, N.H., as his home base. Golf and gardening are now his passion. He and Helen visit Hanover often.

Arne Yensen says it's been a normal good year, which included trips to Alaska and to Oregon, where a son lives, and a yacht cruise around Central America. Then back to North Carolina for a surprise birthday party Lucile had arranged.

To all '34s who have now turned 80, welcome to your new decade!
