In addition to that warm reunion, we celebrated our 60th year in another fine way. We gave $516,000 to the Alumni Fund this year—a 60th-year record. Eighty percent of '34s contributed. We are so fortunate that many widows have kept themselves part of the '34 family, and 55 of them helped us reach the goal.

What did we learn at Dartmouth that helped us build the remarkable lives so many of us have had? The top majors for '34 were economics 90, English 65, Tuck School 58, sociology 52, political science 30, zoology 26, history 24, French 21, chemistry 18, Medical School 17. There were eight to ten for Thayer School-chemistry-economics-political science, and English-philosophy, and five to seven for education, physics, psychology, senior fellowship, and mathematics.

There were 12 more majors with one to four of us, so we did have a bundle of different goals while staying together on campus. Maybe now I should check to see how this compares with current choices.

The old ski jump on the golf course, once visible from Lyme Road, has been taken down now. I went to the ceremony dedication for a memorial marker at the jump site one Sunday, taking along current Kendal resident Lucy Briggs, whose husband, Ellis '21, as head of the Outing Club, helped place the jump there in 1922. Did any of you use the jump?

This is another busy time of year for Geneand Nina Orsenigo. They planned once again to come to Hanover and every other place where Dartmouth played football this fall. And now they have a great-grandson to keep up with. I doubt any of us can top the Orsenigos in their longtime Big Green cheering.

An old Buckeye, Jack Fish, is still holding on in Atlanta. I recently uncovered a fine letter received after my move to Kendal. He has held onto his memory bank, and it's still full of our Hanover days. He's grateful so many keep those assets alive and useful.

Any of you have grandchildren that entered Dartmouth this fall? Let me know.
