Although the elections have come and gone, I just received an article on David Winters and his bid for state representative in his home state of Illinois. David, like his Biblical namesake, was going up against a Democratic Goliath incumbent whom he describes as a "career politician, on the public payroll for the past 18 years." He ran as a farmer and a businessman, understanding well the needs of his district (in fact, he campaigned as an "Ivy League farmer"). I hope David did better than the "Ivy League oilman!" Let us know.

From Jeff Sassorossi, collector of class dues, come the following tidbits which could accurately be called "remittance advices." Bob"Action" Jackson, says "A few things have changed since I last spoke to you—we have a new son born on June 15! I got tired of hearing about how to run a business from owners living 3,000 miles away, so I bought the business from them and changed the name to Jackson Industries [how clever!]. It's been almost a year since I acquired it, and so far so good. We also completed construction of our new house and moved in." Action earns his name. Best of luck!

David Dunbar writes "Barbara and I are now the proud parents of Evan, whom we adopted in February at the age of two and a half months. It's taken us a long time to start a family, but it was well worth the wait. Evan's a bright-eyed, lively one-year-old now with a great chortle. Our lives have been turned upside down, but we're having lots of laughs with our new son. I've cut back on my freelance writing and editing to stay home with Evan. Barbara's still at Travel and Leisure.

The intrepid David Spicer sent a picture of the "Alaskan Expeditionary Force of '75ers," taken last August. Included were GeorgeHannett, Larry Habegger, David Spicer,John Lyons, James O'Reilly, and LeeGotshall-Maxon. "We did some great gambling over poker and whiskey into the wee hours, some great salmon fishing out at King Salmon, enjoyed Denali National Park and the wildlife, and generally we had a hellatious good time. [He goes on to recount, in rather descriptive and unprintable language, the nature of their good time.] It was a memorable event with some terrific friends."

If you've enjoyed the great photographs in the periodical Dartmouth Life, you can thank our own Stuart Bratesman, who is the man behind the camera for most of those pics.

On a sad note, we received word that John Kemeny passed away following a heart attack on December 26. President Kemeny was a strong, solid, inspirational leader during a tumultuous period in our country's and our college's history. He will be missed as greatly as he was admired.

I have been amazed at the number of POW's (Parents of Wayward alums) who have written for their MIA offspring. I received word from Frank Crowley's mother: "We were somewhat startled to find Frank's name among the missing in 1975! In August 1991 Frank moved from the San Francisco area, leaving Macy's and joining Dayton-Hudson in Minneapolis as division manager. When he isn't flying around the world and the U.S. he can be found with Annie and the two boys, Nicholas and Andrew, at 2432 24th, Minneapolis, MN 55404." Will the following MIAs (or their mothers) report in: Karen LaCerda Andrew John BrumstedJohn Corbett Joseph GenovaTimothy Grant Eric McLeodHarris Reynolds Lawrence Vent
