Tom Zurich wrote to say how surprised he was to see his name in last summer's Alumni Mag. He received it in December—quite a clue to his tale! Tom and his girlfriend, Stephanie Shaw, are based in Tortola, BVI, where they run or charter, as captain and chef, a 5 0-foot sailing sloop for The Moorings. Tom and Stephanie live on the boat (when not off it to swim and scuba dive) and sound like they are having a terrific time.

Tom notes that they are looking for another yacht to run and wants everyone to know that "if they would like to have a yacht in the Caribbean, or elsewhere, but know little about what is involved, we'd be happy to enlighten them." So, if you want to sail with a couple of others on the sloop Soonie, you know where to find Tom!

Vickie Grossack Stachowski wrote with terrific news. Vickie married Russell Stachowski last August in San jose. Noting all the rain at their wedding, she suggests that she and Russell should get some credit for ending the drought in California. They honeymooned in Kauai, barely missing hurricane Iniki in the process! Vickie is an actuary at Argonaut Insurance Company in Menlo Park, and Russell, a Notre Dame '81 and Berkeley Ph.D., is a nuclear engineer for GE. Congratulations, and stay out of the rain, OK?

Julie Koeninger wrote to tell of her September wedding in Hanover to Peter D'Anieri. Julie is an investment officer with John Hancock Financial Services in Boston. Peter, a University of Maine (B.S. in forestry), Virginia Poly Tech (M.S., forestry), and Notre Dame (M.B.A.) graduate, is a portfolio analyst for Hancock Timber Resources Group.

Attending the wedding were a number of Dartmouth alums including Mark and JulieStiles Matuschak, Dave Koeninger '86 (Julie's brother), Jenny Archibald Williams '85, Dave Van Wie '79 and wife Cheryl Bascomb '82, Joan Danziger Hechtman, Kathleen Delisle Patterson '82, Barbara Biggs '80, EileenCrane, Pam Hedstrom, and Alain Moreaux and his fiancee, Emily Bakemeier '82. Julie noted that Peter had adjusted well to the Dartmouth scene and that the two actually got engaged in Hanover last January.

Julie also sent some news about the '81s at the wedding: Joan D.H. is keeping busy with kids Josh 1 and Rachel 3, and she works parttdme for the South Norfolk County Association for Retarded Citizens. The Hechtman family lives in Newton, Mass.

Eileen Crane is in Cambridge running her own translation business, "Speak Easy Language Solutions." Eileen is also involved in Dartmouth's Alumni in the Schools, a volunteer program in six Boston schools. Eileen is co-chair of the program at the Nativity Preparatory School. The six school programs are also getting help from Ted Hibben, who is writing a business plan for Alumni in the Schools. Julie writes that the Boston program has been quite successful and has served as the model for similar programs else where.

Ted lives in Cambridge and has been running with a local coach. He recently finished the N.Y.C. Marathon in about three hours (Good job, Ted—I wouldn't have made it at all!).

Pam Hedstrom is in Washington, D.C., working for JHM Management Corporation, a mortgage subsidiary of John Hancock. Although Julie Koeninger didn't say so, other sources tell me that she was recently honored with the Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award. Congratulations on all counts, Julie.

One erratum as a final note: Betsy Evans Bodner '83 wrote to say that husband RandyBodner is not an assistant district attorney but rather an assistant United States attorney (a federal prosecutor) in the Southern District of New York. Specifically, Randy is in the Organized Crime Unit of the Criminal Division, and recent victories have been against the Medellin Cartel. His next trial involves the Mafia. Nice knowin' ya, Randy— good luck!

So that's all folks. Cheers!
