When I heard through the grapevine that Liz Eldredge Alexakos had a baby (of course, I didn't know she was even pregnant!), I quickly called one of my best sources for news. The main news was William Leonidas Alexakos, who was born on May 24. William's proud papa is George Alexakos. Lizzie is on leave from Brigham Women and Children's Hospital in Boston, where she is an anesthesiologist. George is at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston.

Liz said that she saw Jody Awad in the hall outside the OR at Brigham and stopped to catch up. Jody is working at the hospital as a social worker.

Phil Gildan and his wife Laurie wrote to announce the birth of their second son, Jacob Lee Gildan, who was born on May 6. Congratulations!

Alain Moureaux was married in late spring to Emily Bakemeier '82 in Vermont. Emily is getting a Ph.D. in art history at Princeton. Alain received a master's degree in political science from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and is now the president of Moureaux Associes in Paris and Princeton. The firm is an international investigative company. Sounds like there could be much more to the story, but The New York Times didn't report it.

I received an update from Tom Zurich, our resident Caribbean sailor. Tom and his significant other, Stephanie Shaw, have a new charter boat called the Danubio. So give them a call at The Moorings in Tortola, 8.V.I.

Word also has it that Steve Godchaux is at Yale Drama School. Also that Deal Lodmell is getting married. Fact or fiction? I await confirmation by wire or mail!
