I have a whole slew of mail stacked up on my desk, so I'll just start right in. Holly Johnson writes in from Hanover, where she studies at Dartmouth Med. Holly's classmates at D-Med include John Bagnal,Adrianna Bravo, Norman Chou, GaryDavis, Bonnie Hartmann, JohnTenbrook, and Loryn Weinstein. Chun O, who is taking a year off before med school, is living in Hanover and doing biological research for Prof. Rothblatt.
Holly reports on a number of'92s who have left the Hanover plain: "Kathy Weigle just finished gross anatomy at Washington U. Med. in St. Louis. Walter Florence is working in Chicago for a consulting firm. Carina Wong is in New York City at the Columbia School of Journalism. liana Shulman returned to her native land of N.Y.C. to study torts at Columbia Law School. Tanya Schierlingis doing the same thing at George Washington Law School in D.C. Michelle Beaulieu is doing top-se- cret research in protein chemistry at Cambridge Neuroscience Inc. in Boston. DanaJohnson is working for a consulting firm in D.C. Ashley Abbott is on the George Mitchell staff in D.C."
The most surprising letter came from TonyLight foot, who wrote in on U.S. Army stationery from Fort Riley, Kansas. At the end of junior year Tony was bored with the Dartmouth campus and wanted something different. He couldn't get into an FSP or LSA at such short notice, so, since he has "always had a fondness for things military," he joined the army. After basic training in Georgia, he was placed into the 82nd Airborne, which just happened to be in northern Iraq at the time. Tony quite literally dropped into Egypt. Apparently not regretting it at all, Tony says, "Well, I got to travel at least."
Allison Koweek writes from Cambridge, where she is enrolled in the Ph.D. program in genetics at Harvard Med School. She says that she runs into fellow Harvard Med students Ajeya Joshi and Frantz Gibbs quite frequendy. Allison had lunch with Greg York, who is in the Ph.D. program in biology at MIT. She also passes on information about Tad Roselund, who is consulting in Boston; Marilyn Cumxnings, who works for a biotech company in Woburn; Julia Kenerson, who is on her way to Switzerland to teach English; and Scott McBride, who is in Germany studying chemistry.
Abbie Wechsler writes from nearby Winchester, Mass., to announce her engagement to Matt Bushley. Abbie recently returned to Winchester from Oak Ridge, Tenn., where she worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In Tennessee she lived near Christy Shero, who was home after working at a Native American reservation. Abbie also saw Kim Davis, who loves the Duke School of the Environment. Kim reports that DianeGrauer is working in San Francisco, and Laurie Schuur just finished an internship in Berkeley, Calif., and is on her way to teach geology and rock climbing in Texas.
kari Reuter writes from Glen Rock, N.J., where she volunteers for the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps and is working on her med school applications. Kari reports that Jay Caggiano was recendy engaged to his high school sweetheart. Kari and Class Pres JenBergeron took off for a quick trip to France before Jen had to report to her new job in Washington, D.C., with the Foreign Service.
Dan Allen recently returned to the wonderful world of Dartmouth baseball as an assistant coach. He lives in Norwich. Dan's former roommate Samir Desai is working hard at Solomon Brothers in New York City.
Alas; I've run out of room. See you in April!
